대지는 동교동과 연남동의 경계를 이루는 4미터 도로에 접하고 있다.

홍대입구역 3번 출구에서 경의선 숲길을 지나 인파로 가득한 골목길을 구불구불 돌아 들어가면 자리한 곳이다.

기존의 다가구주택은 오랜 시간이 지나는 동안 더이상 방수 등 보수공사를 해도 그 기능을 회복하지 못하는 상황에 이르게되어 근린생활시설로의 신축이 결정된다.

지면에서 반층을 올린 1층과 반층을 내린 지층의 경제성이 동일한 조건이라는 지역의 특성을 반영하여 1층의 바닥높이가 정해지고, 발코니와 승강기 등 바닥면적에서 제외되는 공사면적을 최대한 확보하여 수익성을 고려한다.

외부로 열려있는 계단실은 누구라도 자유롭게 이 건물을 드나들 수 있는 열린 상가임을 알려준다.

한 층씩 오를 때마다 보이는 동네의 풍경은 조금씩 달라지는데,

5층 옥상에서 사방을 둘러보면 자유로운 새가 된 듯한 기분에 젖기도 한다.

서울의 많은 지역이 젠트리피케이션의 늪에 빠질 때에도 홍대앞은 여전히 인파로 북적이는 핫플레이스다.

1990년대 중반부터 시작된 홍대의 거리미술제는 이 지역을 젊은 문화의 거리로 인식시키는데 일조하고,

그 영향이 지금까지도 이어져오고 있다.

당인리 발전소를 모티프로 한 카페, 후미진 골목을 화사하게 탈바꿈시킨 벽화,

여러 분야 작가들의 공방, 골목골목 특색있는 상점들이 모두 이 곳으로 사람들을 모이게 하는 거리의 풍경이다.

또하나의 특색있는 풍경이 되는, 분주한 도심속에서 잠시나마 여유로움을 즐길 수 있는 장소가 되기를 바라며

동교동 유유자적을 완성한다.

A free and leisurely place

The site is in contact with a 4-meter road that forms the boundary between Donggyo-dong and Yeonnam-dong. It is located at Exit 3 of Hongik University Station, passing Gyeongui Line Forest Park, and winding around an alley full of crowds.

Existing multi-family houses would no longer be able to recover their functions even if they were repaired such as waterproofing for a long time, so the construction of new neiborhood facilities will be decided.

Reflecting the characteristics of the region that the economic feasibility of the basement and first floors is the same, the floor height of the first floor is determined, and profitability is considered by securing as much construction area as possible except for floor areas such as balconies and elevator.

The stair halll, which is open to the outside, tells us that it is an open facility where anyone can freely enter and exit the building. The scenery of the neighborhood changes little by little every time you climb up the fifth floor, and when you look around from the rooftop on the fifth floor, you feel like a free bird.

Even when many parts of Seoul fall into the swamp of gentrification, Hongdae area is still a hot place crowded with crowds. The Hongdae Street Art Festival, which began in the mid-1990s, helps to recognize the area as a street of young culture, and its impact has continued to this day.

Cafes with motifs of Dangin-ri Power Plant, mural paintings that transformed the back alleys into bright colors, workshops of artists from various fields, and shops with distinctive alleys are all street scenes that attract people to this place.

This free and leisurely place will be completed in the hope that it will be another unique scenery and a place where you can enjoy relaxation for a while in the busy downtown.
